- Oakley is SUCH a good boy. He’s mellow, sweet, great with small kids, cats and other dogs. He loves to be loved and is very affectionate.
Oakley does have some Great Pyrenees qualities, the most notable being that he can be territorial and will bark at passers-by and visitors (he wants to protect his flock). He is not aggressive, has never harmed anyone, and warms up very quickly to visitors, but he is a big dog and can look intimidating. He likes to wander and needs a fenced-in area. He doesn’t jump and is not an escape artist, so a short fence is fine. He’s a great farm dog and protected our chickens from coyotes
